Who Is Carly?
Carly was born and raised in a small Texas town surrounded by animals, music and art. This upbringing allowed her to appreciate the simple yet beautiful things in life and gain a unique perspective on her art, whether it’s through teaching or making music. Carly has been on the stage performing and writing songs her whole life. She began to pursue a career in musical theatre at a young age, but her career goals took a turn as she graduated college during the year of the Covid-19 pandemic. She then began pursuing a career as a songwriter and singing pianist. She fell in love with being an independent artist and sharing her stories.
She’s played at several notable venues throughout the DFW area, including Hall Arts Hotel, Tupps Brewery, and SoFar Sounds DFW. In May 2021, she was ranked in the top 3 at the BW Stevenson Singer-Songwriter Competition at Poor David’s Pub—a competition where well-known names like Marin Morris and Zane Williams also competed at the start of their careers.
When Carly isn’t playing gigs or working on her independent music career, she’s teaching voice, songwriting, and acting lessons. Carly began teaching as soon as she graduated from college with a BFA in Musical Theatre. She began studying different teaching techniques, and learning more about the versatility of the voice. Her study slowly started to grow, resulting in her teaching over 2,000 hours of voice lessons. Her love for teaching increases every day, as she watches her students change and grow into strong performers and artists.
Carly is excited to grow as an artist, performer and vocal coach. She believes in spreading abundance and compassion to all of the people who listen to her music along with her fellow performers.
